Blog # 3

In chapter 4 I read about exactly what a system unit is. It is not only a computer, like i've always thought, it can be anything boxlike with electronic components. I also read about Input devices, there are four types: commands, user response, date, and programs. One very important input device is a keyboard. Output is data that is processed into information, some types are video, audio, text, and graphics. Output devices are things that convey the different types of output, things like monitors and speakers. When i was reading about the different kinds of storage devises i wondered if people still used floppy disks!?
My Mac computer still is not working with SAM. It's alright though i just get everything done in the computer lab on campus. I am really bad at just writing about anything, the last time i had a journal like this was in middle school. I saw the movie Good Luck Chuck yesterday night, it was hilarious.
Last wednesday in class i used Inspiron for the first time. I learned a lot of new skills in that program. i never even knew it existed before wednesday. I think that program will not necessarily help my in my career because i plan to teach kindergardeners, but if i ever decide to move up to 4th or 5th grade this program would help to explain material to my future students.

I see what you're saying about teaching younger kids and not necessarily using Inspiration. They might not understand the concepts and everything. I plan on teaching high school so, while they may be a little too old for it, I think it could still help them because I know they still helped me when I was in high school.

I think all those concepts in chapter 4 were helpful because they are basic things about a computer that we should all know.
